The College of Basic Education organized a workshop entitled "The Impact of Natural Resources Ownership on Per Capita Income in Iraq," presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Sakina Ali Karim, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs. The workshop addressed the impact of natural resources, such as oil and gas, on the Iraqi economy and how these resources are reflected in the per capita income level in light of the economic and political challenges facing the country. The workshop also discussed the gap between owning natural resources and effectively utilizing them to improve the living conditions of citizens. It also highlighted how to invest these resources sustainably in order to achieve comprehensive economic development, with proposals for economic policies that contribute to raising the per capita income level and reducing the economic gap. The workshop concluded with an interactive discussion with the attendees on the role of academic institutions in raising community awareness of the importance of managing natural resources and achieving sustainable development.
