In a new international academic achievement added to Kirkuk University's record, Mr. Yıldırım Salahuddin Hussein, a faculty member in the Statistics Department at the College of Administration and Economics, has been selected as a member of the International Committee for the 6th World Championship in Data Science & AI 2026, which is organized by the International Society of Data Scientists (ISODS) in the United States of America.
This selection is the first of its kind for a faculty member from Kirkuk University in this global championship. The international committee comprises an elite group of professors, experts, and researchers from universities and scientific institutions in the United States, Japan, Vietnam, India, Egypt, Uganda, and Iraq.
This appointment coincides with the university lecturer and IFIA-Geneva certified inventor, Yıldırım Salahuddin Hussein, assuming the position of Vice President of the International Society of Data Scientists in Iraq (VP, ISODS Iraq), to represent Iraq and Kirkuk University in the international scientific activities organized by the society.
The championship aims to develop innovative solutions in the fields of data science, artificial intelligence, knowledge bases, and smart systems relies on the latest global technologies, with the participation of teams of students, researchers, and professionals from various countries around the world.
This selection reflects the growing scientific stature of Kirkuk University and the presence of its academic cadres in specialized international forums, as well as opening new horizons for scientific and research cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and data science.
