As part of the activities of the Women’s Affairs Unit aimed at supporting students and developing their academic skills, a seminar entitled (Effective Study Strategies) was held. It was presented by the lecturers, Asst. Lect. Zina Nour Al-Din Haidar and Asst. Lect. Sinaria Gharib Qader, and targeted college students to improve their study methods and achieve better results.
The seminar addressed the importance of adopting proper study habits, emphasizing that academic success depends not only on the number of study hours but on the quality of comprehension and understanding. It also reviewed a set of strategies, including time management, setting a study schedule, and defining clear goals for each study session.
The seminar focused on active learning methods, such as summarizing lessons and asking questions, in addition to using modern techniques like spaced repetition and mind mapping, while emphasizing the minimization of distractions and taking regular breaks.
At the conclusion of the seminar, important advice was provided, including choosing a suitable study environment, and paying attention to sleep and proper nutrition due to their role in enhancing concentration. Additionally, the student, Diyar Ahmed, was honored as a model for outstanding students.
The seminar witnessed positive interaction from the students, owing to the practical guidance it contained that contributes to supporting their academic journey.
