Within the framework of the ongoing scientific and academic activities carried out by the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Kirkuk, and its commitment to supporting scientific research and encouraging rigorous applied studies,
a Master's thesis defense in the Department of Statistics was held in the college conference hall for student Asmaa Salah Muhammad Saleh Hassan, titled:
“Comparison Between Forecasting Using Regression Models and Machine Learning Algorithms”

30 8 1In the presence of the examination committee members and several college faculty members and researchers, the thesis addressed a contemporary and vital topic in applied statistics and forecasting by conducting a scientific comparison between traditional statistical methods based on regression models and modern algorithms in machine learning, evaluating their efficiency and capability in providing more accurate and effective forecasts.

During the defense session, the researcher delivered a scientific presentation outlining the research problem, objectives, methodology, statistical methods, and algorithms utilized, alongside the primary results and conclusions. The session featured a rich scientific debate and specialized insights from the committee members covering the methodological and practical aspects of the thesis, enriching the research and enhancing its scientific value.
