The College of Computer Science and Information Technology discussed a Master’s thesis titled “Machine Learning Approaches for Predicting and Preventing Cyber Attacks,” submitted by the student Wafaa Karim Abdullah. The study focused on employing machine learning algorithms to classify cyber-attacks and build an integrated model for their prediction and mitigation, while evaluating performance using standard datasets in cybersecurity research. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed methodology in improving classification accuracy and performance metrics, thereby reinforcing the importance of integrating Artificial Intelligence techniques and optimization algorithms to address increasing security challenges.
