The College of Computer Science and Information Technology participated in the activities of the Iraq Education Conference 2025 (Second Edition) in Baghdad, serving as the scientific representative for the University of Kirkuk. The conference was held on the campus of the University of Baghdad in Al-Jadiriyah from October 11 to 13, 2025, under the patronage of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the attendance of numerous global institutions and all Iraqi governmental and private universities.
The College was represented at this event by Dr. Ihsan Hussein Abdul Qadir, a faculty member from the College of Computer Science and Information Technology. He attended the scientific sessions and specialized workshops that addressed the most important achievements and scientific steps necessary to advance the scientific landscape of Iraq.
The conference aimed to enhance cooperation between universities and industrial institutions, exchange academic and research expertise in digital technology and communications, and emphasize the necessity of activating technology parks within Iraqi universities. Additionally, it facilitated discussions on innovative solutions to the challenges facing Iraqi universities, both locally and internationally.
The event drew broad participation from universities and researchers within and outside Iraq, alongside the presence of international organizations such as Scopus and Clarivate. Multiple themes were presented, focusing on methods to uplift the scientific and research status of Iraqi universities.
The conference concluded with a series of recommendations centered on supporting scientific research, developing technical infrastructure, establishing technology incubators in universities, and fostering partnerships between the academic and private sectors.
