College of Computer Science and Information Technology Organizes Field Visit to Al-Thurayya Path Company

In line with the College of Computer Science and Information Technology's efforts to enhance the practical skills of its students, the Information Technology Department organized a scientific visit to Al-Thurayya Path Company in Kirkuk. The purpose was to familiarize students with the latest technologies in FTTH (Fiber to the Home) networks and optical fiber systems.

During the visit, the students were introduced to the components of the optical fiber system, including the OLT, ONT, and Splitter, as well as the mechanism of signal distribution through optical cables to users' homes. Furthermore, the company's engineers provided a field explanation of optical network design, along with practical methods for maintenance and testing.

This visit is part of a series of applied activities organized by the department, which aims to link theoretical knowledge with real-world experience and to prepare students with professional competency in the field of modern networks.
