Based on the principle of joint scientific cooperation between Iraqi universities, Assistant Professor Dr. Farah Khalaf Hammoud, teaching in the College of Science/Chemistry Department, participated in a discussion committee for a master’s thesis entitled (Preparation of interconnected networks (IPNs) from polyethylene and a number of copolymers) by the student Azhar Waad Allah Daoud Noman. From the University of Mosul - College of Science/Department of Chemistry.
The lecturer explained that the study included developing the chemical structure of linear, low-density polyethylene and transforming it from chemically inactive to active by introducing maletic anhydride groups, forming polyester and polyamide networks, and then preparing new polymeric alloys in the form of IPNs interlaced with commercial polymeric networks and using them in various fields.
She added, "The study prepared by the student received the approval of the discussion committee, and they decided to accept the thesis, taking into account the comments provided by the committee members, and awarded the student a master's degree with a grade of distinction."
