The Women's Empowerment Committee, through the Continuing Education Division at the College of Pharmacy, held a scientific symposium entitled (Postpartum Depression in Women) on Tuesday 3/5/2024. The symposium included a lecture by Assistant Lecturer Taiba Faris Abdul Karim, in which she addressed the definition of postpartum depression. She explained that women who have previously suffered from depression are more likely to suffer from it again. She also listed the most important symptoms of the disease, which are feeling very sad, a tendency to cry, moodiness, and loss of interest in daily activities and their children. At the end of the symposium, the lecturer recommended using a combination of psychotherapy and antidepressants as an ideal way to get rid of the disease.
