In the presence of Professor Dr. Hiwa Sattar, the College of Nursing at Kirkuk University discussed a master’s thesis entitled “Quality of life of cancer patients who receive chemotherapy at the Oncology and Hematology Center in the city of Kirkuk.”
Submitted by the student (Muayad Majeed Samin) on Sunday, 9/17/2023, in the conference hall at the College of Nursing, Kirkuk University.
The message aimed to evaluate the health and quality of life of cancer patients in all its fields, which include (physical, nutritional, psychological and therapeutic) and those who visit the Oncology and Hematology Center in the city of Kirkuk for the purpose of receiving chemotherapy.
The letter concluded that the majority of patients who received chemotherapy had an average level of quality of life in multiple areas of quality of life. There is no relationship between quality of life and patient demographic characteristics, including gender, age, marital status, and education level, and the relationship was weak at the p>0 level. 05
The letter recommends that the Ministry of Health and health care providers develop psychological support for patients and their families to improve the quality of life for patients from psychological aspects, as well as supply specialized centers with nutrition experts to treat and improve the quality of nutrition for patients and educate their families about the type of healthy eating that a cancer patient needs.
The committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Rashid Amin from Sulaymaniyah University / College of Nursing and under the supervision and membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Khader Bayez / College of Nursing, University of Kirkuk, and the membership of Assistant Professor Dr. Abdel Saleh Kamit, University of Kirkuk / College of Nursing, and the membership of the instructor Dr. Youssef Abdel Mohsen Saleh, University of Kirkuk/ College of Nursing.
