Awareness, Attitudes, and Usage Prevalence of Anti-Obesity Medications in Tikrit: A Cross-Sectional Study

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Hiwa Sattar Saleh, a Master's thesis titled "Awareness, Attitudes, and Prevalence of Weight-Loss Medication Use in Tikrit City: A Cross-Sectional Study" was successfully defended at the College of Nursing.

The study, presented by the researcher Shifa Salem Hamad, aimed to assess the level of community awareness and attitudes toward weight-loss medications and products, evaluate their prevalence of use, and identify the key factors associated with their utilization.

The findings revealed a moderate level of awareness among the majority of participants regarding weight-loss products, with variations in knowledge based on the medication type and information source. Additionally, the results indicated positive attitudes among a segment of the participants toward using these products; however, safety concerns, potential side effects, and financial costs emerged as the primary factors influencing their utilization.
