The Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Media, Kirkuk University, in cooperation with the Kirkuk Health Department and the Continuing Education Division, organized a scientific awareness seminar on breast cancer as part of Pink October activities, under the slogan "Your Awareness is Safety... Early Detection is Reassurance." The seminar aimed to promote health awareness regarding the importance of early detection and methods of preventing the disease.
The seminar emphasized the importance of early screening and its role in enhancing treatment opportunities, in addition to disseminating health education and encouraging women to undergo regular checkups. It also highlighted the importance of seeking medical attention at specialized health institutions if any concerning symptoms appear.
Furthermore, the seminar stressed the importance of providing psychological and social support to women diagnosed with breast cancer, embracing them, and standing by their side, considering this a shared human and societal responsibility that contributes to strengthening hope and confidence, and enabling them to face the disease with courage.
This event is part of the College of Media's efforts at Kirkuk University to promote health awareness and instill a culture of prevention, contributing to raising community awareness about the importance of women's health and the necessity of caring for and protecting it.
