The Human Rights Unit at the College of Media, Kirkuk University, distributed awareness brochures entitled “Education is a Right… Not a Privilege,” aiming to promote awareness of the importance of the right to education and emphasize its role in human development, societal advancement, and the consolidation of the principles of justice and equality.
The brochures included a series of awareness messages affirming that knowledge is the foundation for building minds and nations, and that the right to education is a cornerstone for shaping the future and achieving sustainable development. Furthermore, it is a gateway to awareness and a path to preserving human dignity, as true development cannot be achieved without guaranteeing educational opportunities for all.
The Dean of the College of Media, Professor Dr. Muad Assi Ali, affirmed that the college administration is committed to implementing awareness activities and programs aimed at disseminating a culture of human rights and promoting awareness of fundamental rights, foremost among them the right to education. This contributes to instilling the values of justice, equality, and social responsibility in students and faculty.
This initiative is part of the College of Media’s efforts to spread human rights culture and enhance societal awareness of the importance of education as a fundamental human right and a cornerstone for building a conscious society.
