The College of Media Council at Kirkuk University held its first meeting of the new academic year, chaired by the Dean, Professor Dr. Muad Assi Ali, and attended by council members, to discuss several academic and administrative matters on its agenda.
The meeting began with a discussion of preparations for the start of the new academic year, emphasizing the need to complete and prepare all academic, administrative, and technical requirements to ensure the smooth operation of the educational process and provide a suitable university environment for students and faculty.
The council also discussed a proposal to establish a Department of Digital Media and Artificial Intelligence for the upcoming academic year, as part of the college's commitment to keeping pace with the rapid developments in the media landscape and responding to the demands of the job market and the digital transformations taking place in the media sector.
Furthermore, the council discussed a proposal to publish a specialized scientific journal focusing on media studies and artificial intelligence. This journal aims to contribute to strengthening scientific research, encouraging specialized academic output, and opening new horizons for researchers in the fields of digital media and artificial intelligence applications.
During the meeting, the Dean of the College stressed the importance of continuing efforts aimed at developing the academic and scientific progress of the college, and enhancing the quality of its educational and research outputs, in line with the requirements of scientific and technological development and the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
