The Dean of the College of Media at Kirkuk University, Professor Dr. Muad Assi Ali, participated in a meeting of the Committee of Deans of Media Colleges and Heads of Media Departments at Iraqi Universities. The meeting was hosted by the College of Media at the University of Baghdad and chaired by Professor Dr. Ammar Taher, Head of the Committee of Deans of Media and Dean of the College of Media at the University of Baghdad. Also in attendance was Assistant Professor Dr. Wafaa Hamid Abbas, Director of the Studies and Planning Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The meeting discussed the mechanisms for implementing the Bologna Process in media colleges and departments, and the executive steps for the gradual transition from the traditional curriculum to an outcomes-based system. This aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's directives aimed at developing academic programs and enhancing the quality of university education.
Participants also reviewed the readiness of colleges and academic departments to implement the Bologna Process, including the mechanisms for preparing study plans, course descriptions, and learning outcomes. They also discussed preparing the necessary academic and administrative requirements to ensure successful implementation, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality of media education outcomes and aligning them with international academic standards.
The participants stressed the importance of unifying efforts among media colleges in Iraqi universities, and exchanging experiences and expertise to ensure the optimal application of the Bologna Process, which will positively impact the development of the educational environment and the preparation of media personnel who possess competence and knowledge according to the latest international standards.
