About the Department

The Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, University of Kirkuk, was established in 2005 as one of the founding departments of the college. Since its inception, the department has been committed to preparing highly qualified civil engineers equipped with the scientific knowledge, technical skills, and professional ethics required to contribute effectively to the development of Iraq's infrastructure and society.

The department offers a four-year Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) program in Civil Engineering that combines theoretical education with practical training. The curriculum covers the major disciplines of civil engineering, including structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, water resources engineering, environmental engineering, construction materials, and construction management. Modern engineering software, laboratory experiments, field activities, and graduation projects are integrated into the educational process to enhance students' practical competencies.

Supported by qualified academic staff and well-equipped laboratories, the department promotes scientific research, innovation, and lifelong learning while encouraging collaboration with governmental institutions, industry, and the local community. Through continuous curriculum development and quality assurance practices, the department strives to meet national accreditation requirements and international academic standards.
