Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohieddin, the Continuing Education Division organized a scientific symposium in the Kurdish Language Department “entitled International Mother Language Day” on 2/21/2024, and it was delivered by Prof. Sirwan Samin Ahmed and M.M. Aram Rashid Majeed.
The symposium discussed interesting topics about the importance of the mother language and preserving it, and its impact on shaping cultural identity and traditions. Issues related to learning and teaching the Kurdish language and how to enhance its role in society were discussed. During it, Professor Dr. Azad Abdul Wahid Karim, Head of the Kurdish Language Department, stated the importance of working to preserve He stressed the mother language as an integral part of the cultural heritage, stressing the need to support and develop language teaching programs in schools and universities, and stressed the integration of efforts to enhance the use of the language in all artistic fields to contribute to the preservation of the general heritage and general civilization.
