A Scientific Symposium on the Epic of Mem and Zin by Ahmed Khani

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, Dean of the College of Education for the Humanities, the Department of Kurdish Language, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Division, organized a scientific symposium entitled "The Epic of Mem and Zin by Ahmed Khani: Structure and Connotations." The symposium highlighted the literary and historical value of the Epic of Mem and Zin, considered one of the most important Kurdish literary works of the classical era. The lecturers discussed the narrative and stylistic structure of the epic, as well as its intellectual and philosophical implications, which reflect human suffering under social and political constraints. The symposium also addressed Ahmed Khani's pioneering role in consolidating Kurdish cultural identity and his efforts to establish the foundations of written Kurdish literature, as well as the epic's influence on Kurdish popular consciousness throughout the ages. At the conclusion of the symposium, the Dean praised the importance of these scientific activities, which contribute to enriching literary knowledge and enhancing cultural awareness among students. He emphasized the college's support for such activities, which enhance the status of Kurdish literature in academic and research contexts.
