Scientific symposium on the culture of the writer in the Abbasid era and Ibn al-Jawzi as an example

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Division, the Department of Arabic Language organized a scientific symposium entitled "The culture of the writer in the Abbasid era, Ibn al-Jawzi as an example." The symposium shed light on the importance of the encyclopedic culture of writers in the Abbasid era, focusing on the personality of Ibn al-Jawzi as a prominent model that reflects the integration of religious, literary and scientific culture in that era. The symposium touched on the role of Ibn al-Jawzi as an encyclopedic writer and thinker and how he was able to employ his diverse knowledge in serving society through his writings that combined moral guidance, social criticism and literary presentation. The symposium addressed the cultural characteristics of the Abbasid writer and the impact of the cultural and political environment in refining Ibn al-Jawzi's personality, in addition to studying his most important literary and intellectual works and how these works influenced the development of cultural and literary discourse in the Abbasid era. The Dean praised the topic of the symposium, stressing that studying literary and intellectual figures such as Ibn al-Jawzi contributes to understanding the depth of Islamic civilization and its richness. Its cultural production, as it called for enhancing studies that link Arab and Islamic heritage to contemporary issues, as they contain lessons and morals that inspire current and future generations.
