Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, the Department of Arabic Language, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Division, organized a scientific symposium entitled "Humor and Satirical Criticism". The symposium addressed the concept of humor in Arabic literature and the impact of satirical criticism in addressing social, political and cultural issues. The lecturers discussed the role of satire in directing criticism in an indirect manner and the extent of its impact on shaping public awareness. The most important figures of satirical literature in the Arab and contemporary heritage were also addressed, explaining how their works contributed to criticizing social and political conditions in ways that combine humor and intellectual depth. The Dean praised the importance of the topic presented, noting that purposeful humor is one of the most powerful tools of literary criticism because of its ability to reveal facts in an attractive and influential way. He also stressed the college's keenness to organize more scientific events that shed light on the intellectual and cultural aspects of literature and enhance students' awareness of literary heritage.
