A micro-teaching lecture on human rights in Islam

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, and in application of the academic standards adopted by the college, the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education organized a micro-teaching lecture entitled “Human Rights in Islam Compared to Modern Concepts” delivered by a fourth-year student. The lecture dealt with the concept of human rights in Islamic law and the similarities and differences between Islamic principles and modern concepts of human rights, while shedding light on the comprehensiveness that characterized Islamic teachings in ensuring human dignity and basic freedoms. The lecture also included an analysis of the legal sources that dealt with rights and duties and discussed the development of human rights concepts in the contemporary world and the extent of their compatibility with Islamic values.

The Dean praised the importance of these lectures in developing the teaching skills of the applied students, stressing that micro-teaching represents a practical experience that helps students to become familiar with modern teaching methods and gives them confidence in presenting topics to an academic audience. He also noted the need to enhance these activities that contribute to refining the student's personality and qualify him to be a teacher capable of managing the educational process effectively.
