Guidance Lecture on Smoking between Illusion and Reality

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit held an awareness lecture for students of the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences entitled "Smoking between Illusion and Reality". This lecture came within the framework of the college's ongoing efforts to educate students about the dangers of negative phenomena that threaten public health and affect society. The lecture addressed the harms of smoking on human health, including the serious diseases it causes, such as lung cancer and heart and arterial diseases. It also discussed the psychological and social aspects of smoking and how addiction to it affects decision-making and interaction with the surrounding environment. The lecture also focused on the importance of the role of students as future leaders in spreading awareness of the dangers of smoking among their peers and members of their community and how psychological guidance can play an effective role in supporting smokers to quit this deadly habit. In conclusion, the lecturer called on students to be positive models in their surroundings, stressing that the college will always support all initiatives that contribute to building a healthy and sound society.

 His Excellency the Dean expressed his concern in a statement regarding the spread of smoking among young people, stressing that this scourge does not only affect the health of the individual, but also extends to affect his social and economic environment. He stressed that the role of educational institutions is not limited to providing academic knowledge, but rather extends to shaping students' awareness and enhancing their positive behaviors.
