Under the patronage and attendance of the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, the Master's thesis entitled (Turkish-Iranian Geopolitical Competition and Its Implications for Iraqi National Security) was discussed in the Department of Geography by the student Abdullah Saleh Ahmed in the college hall on 9/22/2024.
This study sheds light on the reality of geopolitical competition between Turkey and Iran in Iraq. Therefore, the study focused on addressing all the main geographical components that stimulated this competition. The aim of the study is to shed light on the geopolitical importance of Iraq from the Turkish-Iranian perspective and to reveal the importance of Iraq from all geographical, political, economic, social and religious aspects and analyze it according to the geographical approach. The study showed that Iraq is considered one of the most vital and strategic regions in the world due to its oil and mineral wealth and cultural and civilizational landmarks, in addition to its important geographical location that forms a link between the continents of Asia and Europe. It has the basic components, foundations and pillars that qualified it to play an important and distinctive role in international relations.
