Under the patronage and attendance of Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, Dean of the College of Education for the Humanities, the master's thesis entitled "Grammatical Evidence in Al-Kafiya by Jalal al-Din Muhammad ibn Yusuf al-Tabrizi (838 AH) - A Descriptive and Analytical Study" was discussed by student Ferial Mahmoud Askar in the college hall on February 26, 2025. This thesis addressed one of the fundamental pillars upon which linguistic research was founded in its early foundational stages: grammatical evidence, which is considered the most important element upon which the rules of language and grammar are based. Hence, the importance of shedding light on the nature of these evidences and studying them in the context of grammatical disagreement between different schools of thought and the scholars' positions on them emerged. Jalal al-Din al-Tabrizi's commentary on al-Kafiyah is distinguished by its extensive analysis and in-depth exploration of grammatical assumptions, making it one of the most important commentaries that shed light on grammatical topics in a precise, scholarly manner. This thesis addressed the study of the grammatical evidence in this commentary, given its scholarly value and contribution to clarifying many of the grammatical issues raised in al-Kafiyah.
The discussion committee consisted of the following faculty members:
