Under the patronage and attendance of the Dean of the College of Education for the Humanities, Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, the doctoral dissertation entitled "Humanism in Al-Arjani's Poetry (d. 544 AH)" by student Naeem Adnan Jassim was discussed in the college hall on February 23, 2025. The study's findings revealed the humanistic tendencies and desires of the poet Al-Arjani, who possessed a unique poetic talent. He was a prominent poet, fluent in both Arabic and Persian, and renowned for his wisdom, eloquence, and ability to recite and express. This is a reflection of the culture of the Abbasid era. The social themes conveyed various images of humanism, such as generosity, injustice, supplication, piety, and righteousness. The emotional themes were represented by longing, denial, reproach, courage, fear, love, hate, contentment, and envy. The poet employed linguistic devices such as commands, calls, interrogations, negations, prohibitions, supplications, rhetorical images, and various simple and complex poetic meters, all delivered in a clear, fluent language.
