Master's Thesis Discusses Meaning Therapy in Developing Psychological Empowerment

Under the patronage and attendance of His Excellency the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, the master's thesis entitled "The Effect of a Guidance Program Based on Meaning Therapy in Developing Psychological Empowerment among Preparatory School Students" was discussed in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences by the student Biman Ali Mahmoud in the college hall on 10-31-2024.

The thesis aimed to identify the effect of the guidance program by testing the following hypotheses:

1- There are no statistically significant differences at a significance level of (0.05) between the ranks of the experimental group's scores for the pre- and post-tests on the psychological empowerment scale.

2- There are no statistically significant differences at a significance level of (0.05) between the ranks of the control group's scores for the pre- and post-tests on the psychological empowerment scale.

 3- There are no statistically significant differences at a significance level of (0.05) between the ranks of the experimental group and the control group in the post-test on the psychological empowerment scale.

The researcher built a psychological empowerment scale consisting of -30- paragraphs distributed over four dimensions, and she also built a counseling program based on meaning therapy that was applied to a sample of fifth-grade female students in Kirkuk Governorate. The results showed statistically significant differences at a significance level of (0.05) between the ranks of the scores of the members of the experimental and control groups in the post-tests on the psychological empowerment scale in favor of the experimental group. The study came out with a set of recommendations and proposals.
