In cooperation with the General Directorate for Combating Intellectual Terrorism and the National Security Directorate in Kirkuk, The College of Basic Education and the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit organized a symposium entitled “Intellectual extremism and ways to reduce it.”The symposium included a review of the types of intellectual extremism and the paths of its spread, in addition to an analysis of the social, cultural and economic factors that contribute to the emergence and spread of extremism.The symposium aims to shed light on the scourge of intellectual extremism and analyze its causes and effects on societies, in addition to discussing ways to reduce and confront it.The symposium included discussion sessions and an exchange of opinions among the participants, with the aim of finding effective strategies to confront the phenomenon of intellectual extremism and working to enhance awareness and awareness of the importance of tolerance and peaceful coexistence in societies.
