As part of the College of Arts at Kirkuk University’s commitment to enhancing the practical aspect of its Media Department students, the college organized a field trip to "Fazoli Printing and Publishing House" in Kirkuk Governorate on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. The goal of the visit was to observe the printing and publishing processes firsthand and to familiarize students with the modern techniques used in book and journalism production.
The Head of the Media Department, Dr. Turki Hassan Najm, along with several faculty members, accompanied a group of students to the printing house. The tour began with an introduction to the stages of the printing process, from the initial stages all the way to the final product. The printing house staff explained how printed materials are prepared using modern design programs and how suitable paper materials are selected.
During the tour, the students showed great interest in the modern printing techniques used at the facility, which include offset printing and digital printing. The differences between the two methods were explained, along with their advantages in improving print quality and increasing production efficiency. The electronic image and color correction process was also demonstrated to ensure that texts and images match the original designs.
The printing house staff emphasized the importance of focusing on fine details in every step of the printing process, from selecting the type of paper to color adjustment, and ensuring the printed materials meet quality standards after exiting the production lines. The role of the quality control team was highlighted in ensuring that every copy matched the required specifications.
