College of Arts Faculty Member Serves on PhD Dissertation Defense Committee at Babylon University

Professor Dr. Dilshad Omar Abdul Aziz, a faculty member in the Department of History at the College of Arts, University of Kirkuk, served as a member of the defense committee for the PhD dissertation titled: "Higher Education in Iraq 1970–1990," submitted by the researcher Ali Kamil Hamza. The session was held at the Conference Hall in the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Babylon.
The dissertation highlighted the trajectory of higher education in Iraq during the period 1970–1990, tracing the establishment of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, its institutions, and its budgets. It also monitored university expansion across Iraqi governorates and the accompanying scientific and administrative developments.
The study concluded that it is essential to document this stage, which has been overlooked by previous academic research. It focused on aspects not previously studied, such as the Arabization of curricula, private and religious education, the development of technical institutes in the governorates, and the founding of new universities in Iraq.
The dissertation was accepted with a grade of "Pass" (Satisfactory).
