College of Arts Faculty Member Participates in a Master’s Thesis Defense at Tikrit University

Assistant Professor Dr. Hamad Ali Ahmed, a faculty member at the College of Arts, served as a member of the examination committee for a Master’s thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences, Tikrit University. The thesis, titled "Geographical Analysis of Yellow Corn Production and Marketing in Al-Hawija District," was submitted by the student Wissam Rabie Fadel.
The thesis aimed to conduct a geographical analysis of the production and marketing of yellow corn in Al-Hawija. The study utilized official government data and interviews, employing a comprehensive survey method and 531 questionnaire forms distributed to farmers throughout the study area.
The study concluded that multiple varieties of yellow corn are cultivated in Al-Hawija District. The "Adrachma" and "Nevada" varieties ranked first, accounting for 54% of the total production in the study area. The second rank went to the "Yugoslav" and "American 777" varieties in the Al-Riyadh sub-district at 18%, while the third rank was held by the Al-Abbasi sub-district with the "Royal 69" and "Dutch 101" varieties at 15%. Finally, the Al-Zab sub-district ranked last with the "Yugoslav" and "Sagunto" varieties at 11.2%.
