The thesis was titled (A Study on the Suitability of Using Lower Zab River Sediments in Concrete Works in the Dibs Area / Northeast of Kirkuk City).
The thesis discussed the engineering suitability of Lower Zab River sediments for concrete works, aiming to assess their appropriateness for such applications. Three samples were collected from three different locations and tested in the Kirkuk Construction Laboratory.
The thesis concluded that coarse aggregates are unsuitable for concrete works, while the fine aggregates can be relied upon. It also emphasized the need for further modification of the coarse aggregates to make them suitable for concrete works, and recommended conducting an additional study of the area, including a mining evaluation of the existing quarries.
