Dr. Ibtehal Adel Ibrahim, a faculty member at the College of Arts, University of Kirkuk, participated in the Second International Conference of the Assyrian Cultural Center, held in the city of Duhok, with her research titled “The Akkadian Language in Its Assyrian Dialect: A Study of Its Roots, Continuity, and Survival.”
The study aimed to trace the origins of the Akkadian language in its Assyrian dialect, its geographical spread, and its connections to history and civilization. It also explored the challenges the language faced, particularly from the competition posed by the Aramaeans, to the extent that Aramaic became a second language in use due to the close ties between the Assyrians and the Aramaeans.
