The College of Arts Hosts a Seminar on Combating the Drug Epidemic

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Omran Jamal Hassan, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Omer Najm Al-Deen Enja, the College of Arts, in cooperation with the Department of Media, the Department of Studies and Planning, and the Unit for Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance, held a scientific seminar on Sunday, February 9, 2025, titled "The Role of Media in Combating the Drug Epidemic."

The seminar featured lectures by the Dean of the College, Dr. Omar Najm al-Din Injeh, Dr. Turki Hassan Najm, Ms. Alaa Abdul Hassan Jolan, and Mr. Yassin Rashid Faqi. They provided a detailed explanation of the effects of drugs on public health, individuals, and society, and how drug abuse contributes to the rise in mental and physical health issues.

The aim of the seminar was to raise awareness among students about the dangers of drug addiction, which can negatively impact not only the individual but also their family. The seminar emphasized the importance of increasing societal awareness on this issue, in order to build a healthy, safe, and drug-free community.
