Dean of the College of Arts Participates in an International Medical Workshop on Prostate Cancer

The Dean of the College of Arts at the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Omer Najm Al-Deen Enja, participated on Thursday, January 2, 2024, in the international medical workshop titled "Prostate Cancer: Diagnosis, Prevention, and Medical Care", with the participation of professors and specialists from Egypt, Algeria, Libya, and Yemen.

In his speech during the workshop, the Dean emphasized that prostate cancer is an important issue for our communities, especially since some men are reluctant to discuss the topic. However, research into it plays a crucial role in its treatment. It is one of the most common types of cancer worldwide, with some statistics indicating that this disease accounts for about 15% of all cancer types globally.

The Dean also highlighted the importance of not neglecting early screenings and treatment, as the spread of the disease can endanger a man's life. He stressed the need to follow the advice of specialists, particularly regarding the consumption of healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, exercising, avoiding dietary supplements, and maintaining a healthy weight.
