The Dean of the College of Arts at the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Omer Najm Al-Deen Enja, participated in the international scientific symposium titled "Journey of Hope: Latest Advances in Breast Cancer Treatment," which included the participation of professors and specialists from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, and Algeria.
The symposium combined science with hope, highlighting the latest medical advancements to support women in their recovery journey from breast cancer.
In his speech, the Dean emphasized the importance of holding such seminars to increase awareness and conduct educational campaigns. He mentioned similar initiatives in Iraq, where health departments across provinces collaborate to conduct screenings for female students, aiming for early detection.
He pointed out that science continues to evolve in uncovering the latest health solutions, with doctors noting various treatment options tailored to each stage of the disease. By employing these expert insights, a patient’s chances of complete remission can be improved, preventing cancer recurrence.
The Dean also stressed the need to treat patients with sensitivity, whether at home, college, or work, in a way that does not make them feel diminished or stigmatized by the illness. Acknowledging the importance of mental well-being for recovery, he emphasized the need to support the patient emotionally, recognizing the vital role that spiritual support plays in their healing process.
