The College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk, represented by the teaching staff in the Department of Forestry Sciences, Asst. Lect. Ako Ghazi Sattar, Mrs. Omaima Abdel Samad Hassan, and the department’s students, participated in a workshop organized by the Agricultural Extension and Training Center in Kirkuk, in the presence of representatives of the Kirkuk Agriculture and Agricultural Equipment Directorate and the Atshaneh Research Station, The Kirkuk Environment Directorate, and researchers in this field, are working on planting paulownia trees, within the guidance program supporting the national program for paulownia seed multiplication, which was launched by the Agricultural Extension and Training Center in Kirkuk.
The workshop included a lecture by members of the College of Agriculture, in which they explained the importance of planting this tree from an environmental and economic standpoint and urged farmers to plant it, because of its great benefit to the environment and humans.
