The College of Administration and Economics organized an awareness workshop on the effects of smoking on public health, in cooperation with the Kirkuk Health Department, and in the presence of the Administrative Assistant, Dr. Tania Qader Abdul Rahman. The workshop aimed to shed light on the serious health hazards of smoking and its negative impacts on individuals and society, as well as explaining the social and economic repercussions of this phenomenon on the youth and students in particular.
The workshop included scientific lectures presented by specialists from the Kirkuk Health Department, during which they reviewed the most prominent health risks associated with smoking and its effect on the respiratory system, heart, and blood vessels. Additionally, they clarified methods of prevention and ways to quit, and emphasized the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles.
The workshop witnessed engagement from the attending students and staff, who raised several questions and inquiries. Meanwhile, the college administration reaffirmed its continuous commitment to organizing such purposeful activities that contribute to enhancing health awareness, building a healthy university environment, and supporting national efforts to reduce negative phenomena affecting community health.
