The College of Computer Science and Information Technology, representing the University of Kirkuk, participated in the activities of the Fourth International Conference on Information and Communications Technology (ICICT).
The conference was held at the Baghdad International Fairgrounds from September 25 to 28, 2025. It was conducted under the patronage of several Iraqi ministries and institutions, including the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Professor Dr. Issa Ibrahim Issa and Engineer Dr. Ihsan Hussein Abdul Qader, faculty members at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, officially represented the university at the event. They attended the scientific sessions and specialized workshops that addressed the latest trends in communication networks, cybersecurity, the Internet of Things (IoT), and digital transformation within state institutions, including the Ministry of Higher Education.
The conference aimed to foster collaboration between universities and industrial institutions, and to exchange academic and research expertise in the field of digital technology and communications. Furthermore, it aimed to explore innovative solutions for the challenges facing communication infrastructure, both locally and globally.
The event featured extensive participation from researchers from both within and outside Iraq, as well as the attendance of leading international companies specializing in digital transformation and smart solutions. Multiple key themes were presented, including 5G and 6G networks, Artificial Intelligence in communications, and network security.
The conference concluded with a series of recommendations focused on supporting scientific research, developing the technical infrastructure within universities, and strengthening partnerships between the academic and private sectors.
