The Kirkuk branch of the Iraqi Engineers’ Syndicate, in collaboration with the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at Kirkuk University, organized a scientific seminar titled “How to Deal with the AI Revolution: From Challenges to Opportunities.” The event was held at the syndicate’s conference hall.
Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Chalak Shakir, the Dean of the College, delivered the lecture. He discussed the key aspects of the current digital revolution, exploring the origins of artificial intelligence and the most significant technical and ethical challenges it faces. He also highlighted the promising opportunities it presents in various fields, including engineering, education, health, and administration.
The lecture covered the origins and causes of the AI revolution, the primary challenges to its development and dissemination, and the opportunities that can be leveraged across various sectors. Dr. Shakir also touched upon mechanisms for consciously engaging with this rapidly advancing technology.
The seminar was attended by a notable presence of engineers and academics, who showed significant engagement with the topics presented. This reflects a considerable interest within the local community in understanding the dimensions of artificial intelligence and its positive application in various fields.
