Quality Assurance & University Performance

The Division aims to build an effective quality assurance system in the college, spread a culture of quality and accreditation among all college employees, and establish a culture of self-evaluation, development, and continuous improvement of the college’s performance based on the college’s mission and based on the quality assurance standards that have been adopted in this regard. Due to the importance of the department’s role in the college, it is directly linked to the dean of the college.

Division Tasks

Continuing to develop and consolidate the culture of quality and accreditation in the college.

Drawing up a comprehensive strategy to ensure quality and accreditation in the college, while defining the strategic goals and work programs necessary to develop the college’s performance.

Evaluating the performance of the college and its educational programs and doing what is necessary to determine the level of performance and its quality.

Follow up on the implementation of the college’s quality assurance and performance evaluation programs and ensure understanding of the mechanisms upon application.

Preparation, planning and follow-up aimed at the success of self-evaluation of the college’s performance and its various programmes.

Collect the results of the self-evaluation of the college’s performance, analyze them, extract strengths and weaknesses, and present the necessary proposals to develop and improve the college’s performance as a step towards obtaining academic accreditation.

Carrying out direct communication and coordination with the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department at Kirkuk University to follow up on quality assurance and accreditation processes.

Cooperating with the corresponding departments in other colleges in order to increase benefit through exchanging experiences with them.

Participation in local and international conferences and seminars.

Issuing publications and bulletins in the field of quality assurance and accreditation.

Organizational Structure

Quality Assurance Unit

The unit aims to spread a culture of quality and achieve the requirements for obtaining both institutional and programmatic accreditation for the college and its various academic programs to enable the college to continue performing its mission and achieving its goals.

Unit Tasks:

  • Review and update the college’s strategy, mission, and strategic objectives in light of developments and innovations.
  • Follow up and implement the college’s plan regarding quality assurance in order for the college to obtain academic accreditation.
  • Instilling awareness among faculty members, students, and all college employees of the importance of implementing the quality assurance.
  • Establishing the foundations, rules and procedures for monitoring and periodic follow-up for the implementation of quality assurance standards.
  • Proposing university performance standards and quality control for the components of the educational process.
  • Propose and establish work procedures, rules and guidelines to develop and improve performance.
  • Preparing periodic follow-up reports on the unit’s activities and submitting them to the Division.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the college to enhance the quality assurance of the educational process.

University Performance Evaluation Unit

The unit aims to measure the level of the college’s performance to ensure the extent to which it meets the requirements of quality assurance and accreditation, in addition to adopting the college’s self-evaluation in a systematic manner.

Unit Tasks:

  • Evaluating the performance in the college and doing what is necessary to determine the level and quality of performance.
  • Create a database for all college activities to enable the possibility of following up on the development of the educational process.
  • Conducting and participating in field studies to match educational outcomes with the needs of the labor market.
  • Ensure that the college’s objectives are achieved by taking appropriate measures to evaluate its programs and outcomes.
  • Establishing the necessary procedures to implement quality assurance standards.
  • Providing technical advice to the college in the field of developing and implementing performance evaluation systems.
  • Preparing periodic reports on the unit’s activity and submitting them to the Division.
  • Preparing and planning for follow-up self-evaluation of the college’s various activities and programs.
  • Collecting the results of self-evaluation studies, analyzing them, and presenting the necessary proposals.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the college to support the university performance evaluation process.

Laboratory Accreditation Unit

The laboratory accreditation unit works to guarantee the efficiency of laboratory equipment and ensures compliance with international specifications and national standards.

Unit Tasks:

  • Access in the college laboratories to the approved standard specifications for laboratories.
  • Determine the technical specifications for devices and equipment, encode them, and document their data.
  • Follow up on the implementation of calibration programs for devices and equipment with the relevant authorities.
  • Coordination to open programming courses to train laboratory workers according to specializations and international standards.
  • Monitoring the efficiency of laboratory equipment through examining random samples between different time periods.
