A master's thesis in the College of Science/University of Kirkuk discusses the nuclear structure of open-shell nuclei using approximate methods

With the participation of Mr. Assistant President of the University of Kirkuk for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abd Ibrahim, and in the presence of the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Neama Ali Ahmed, the College of Science / Physics Department discussed the master’s thesis entitled “Nuclear structure of open-shell nuclei using approximate methods” by the student Wafa Ahmed Mansour and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Ali Hussein taqi.

The study aimed to describe the nuclear structure of the neutron-rich even isotopes of 112,114, 116, 118, 120,122,124 Sn within the framework of the self-consistent quasi-particle random phase approximation (QRPA), which is based on the Hattery-Focke-Bardeen-Cooper-Schriefer (HF-BCS) model, with the use of... Different types of Skyrim interaction and coupling forces. The study concluded that it is possible to use the model (HF-BCS+QRPA) to describe practical data and study the nuclei of atoms with open shells using the QRPA approximation.

The study recommended applying the model used to study the nuclear structure of the nuclei of other atoms using additional Skyrim interactions until a unified model is obtained that can be applied to all nuclei with the same accuracy and ability to describe experimental data
