Updated Vision, Mission, and Objectives of the Mathematics Department

1- Our Vision:

The department aspires to achieve everything purposeful and fruitful for the sake of academic advancement in the college and university, and for the scientific development of the students who are the outputs of the college in all aspects. Working to achieve the highest standards of academic and institutional quality by improving and developing educational and research programs to ensure obtaining academic accreditation from prestigious national and international accreditation bodies, which enhances the department's position locally and internationally and ensures the provision of high-quality education that meets the needs of students, the labor market, and society.

2- Our Mission:

The department's mission involves preparing students who are scientifically capable in the field of mathematics, developing various skills and abilities among students, and enabling them to apply different equations and use them optimally and correctly, ensuring the graduation of distinguished competencies that meet the requirements of the labor market and contribute to serving society. It is committed to providing outstanding education in accordance with the highest standards of academic and professional quality, stimulating innovative scientific research, and building the capacities of students and faculty members.

3- Department Objectives:

1. Exerting effort to instill a love for the specialization in students by explaining the importance of mathematics and its uses in various fields of life. This is done through regularly updating and developing curricula to ensure they keep pace with the latest scientific and technological developments in the field of mathematics.
2. Preparing outstanding students as a first step towards completing their postgraduate studies to obtain Master's and Ph.D. degrees, which the country suffers a great shortage of.
3. Preparing specialized cadres to work in various state institutions in the fields of modeling, operations research, statistics, and computing.
4. Supplying society with graduates of the Mathematics Department for secondary education needs, in addition to working in the department as research assistants.
5. Providing a supportive and stimulating educational environment by improving infrastructure, facilities, and educational resources.
6. Developing the skills of students and faculty members through workshops, training courses, and scientific conferences.
7. Developing a teaching plan for each faculty member to achieve the desired goals. Supporting and encouraging faculty members and students to conduct innovative scientific research and publish it in peer-reviewed and internationally recognized journals.
8. Establishing partnerships with prestigious academic and research institutions locally and internationally to exchange experiences and cooperate in research and educational projects.
9. Implementing continuous evaluation processes for academic and administrative performance and taking improvement actions based on the evaluation results.
10. Enhancing the department's role in serving society by providing mathematical consultations and holding training courses and workshops that meet the needs of the local community.
11. Working to meet all the requirements of recognized academic accreditation bodies and achieving accreditation for all department programs.
