College of Education for Pure Sciences Organizes a Workshop on AI Applications in Education
The College of Education for Pure Sciences organized a scientific workshop titled "Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Education," as part of its efforts to keep pace with modern scientific and technological developments and to enhance awareness of the importance of employing smart technologies in the educational process.
The workshop addressed the concept of Artificial Intelligence (AI), defining it as the programming of machines to simulate human intelligence, enabling them to think like humans and mimic their actions. This term applies to any machine that possesses characteristics similar to the human mind, such as the ability to learn and solve problems.
The workshop also reviewed the characteristics of AI, particularly its ability to choose the best procedures to achieve a specific goal with the highest possible success rate, as well as its machine learning capability that allows it to continuously develop and improve its performance over time.
The workshop emphasized the importance of AI and its effective role in adding significant value to many sectors globally, especially the educational sector, due to the opportunities it provides to develop teaching methods and improve the quality of education, in addition to giving institutions a competitive advantage that contributes to progress and innovation.
