The College of Nursing Commences the Activities of the “Iqra” Initiative Launched by the President of the University of Kirkuk

 Based on the University of Kirkuk’s belief in the importance of reading as a foundation for building knowledge and developing scientific and cultural awareness, and in implementation of the “Iqra” initiative launched by the President of the University of Kirkuk, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, the College of Nursing has commenced the activities of this scientific and cultural initiative under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Nursing, Professor Dr. Hiwa Sttar Salih, on Wednesday, 04/02/2026.

The “Iqra” initiative aims to establish a culture of regular reading and study within the university environment, enhance students’ research skills, and encourage them to benefit from available knowledge resources in the university libraries, thereby supporting the educational process and raising the scientific and intellectual level.

Through this initiative, the College of Nursing seeks to provide a stimulating academic environment by organizing workshops and scientific and cultural seminars, with active participation from faculty members and administrative staff, in support of students’ academic journey and to strengthen the role of the university as a leading academic institution.

In this regard, the College of Nursing calls upon all its dear students to actively participate in the activities of the “Iqra” initiative and to make the most of this scientific and cultural opportunity, which will positively reflect on their academic path and contribute to preparing an aware and educated generation capable of serving their community and country.
