Objectives of the Department of Political Science:

1. Preparing specialized cadres in political science who are capable of academic and pedagogical work and effective practice in their field of specialization.

2. Contributing to the development and advancement of society through cooperation with the federal government and local governments by preparing research and providing consultations to them.

3. Qualifying individuals for in-depth study of political science, equipped with a scientific method of thinking and the ability to conduct academic research and seek scientific truth in the fields of political thought, political systems, international relations, and international politics.

4. Supplying specialists to state institutions and bodies in the field of political science, particularly the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Higher Education, independent commissions, and national, regional, and international organizations.

5. Preparing individuals interested in issues related to human rights, public freedoms, democracy, and the necessary duty to protect and develop them, as they are the foundation of any civilized society.

6. Encouraging scientific research in the fields of political studies to assist society and the state in overcoming difficult stages.

7. Strengthening the horizons of cooperation with ministries, institutions, local state bodies, civil society organizations, and regional and international organizations, and building effective partnerships with academic and research institutions and local and international organizations to exchange expertise and enhance scientific cooperation.
