Mission of the Department of Political Science:

Spreading political culture and graduating specialized competencies capable of addressing society's problems through multiple channels, so that they may play an active role in political life and public policy-making within the institutions of the Iraqi political system, and meeting the needs of Iraqi society with the aim of advancing it to the ranks of civilized societies where freedom, justice, and equality prevail. The Department of Political Science is committed to providing high-quality academic education in the fields of political science, equipping students with the knowledge and analytical and critical skills necessary to understand local, regional, and international political phenomena, and encouraging applied scientific research that contributes to solving societal problems and supporting sustainable development.
