Objectives of the Department of Law

Objectives of the Department of Law:

The College of Law and Political Science at the University of Kirkuk seeks to achieve the following objectives:

1. To prepare a suitable academic climate for creativity in various branches of legal sciences by adopting advanced academic methods and programs that contribute to graduating qualified and trained cadres capable of practicing legal and Sharia-related work, and keeping abreast of the latest developments in the field of law.

2. To equip graduates with the skills to gain scientific expertise that enables them to invest their legal knowledge through their own efforts, and to create the fundamental capabilities that allow them to keep pace with legal developments and emerging issues.

3. To contribute effectively to the dissemination and development of legal culture in society through seminars, workshops, courses, and conferences organized by the college in the field of law for various state departments and governmental and non-governmental institutions.

4. To strengthen legal culture by providing advice on draft laws, offering legal opinions on judicial decisions and rulings, and furnishing legal consultation and information to those who seek it, in a manner that achieves justice and refines ideas.

5. To encourage and develop scientific research in all areas of legal specialization through the writing and publication of scholarly research.

6. To prepare legal elites capable of creativity and excellence in their field of specialization, able to enter the labor market under various job titles, and to pursue postgraduate studies across the multiple branches of law, thereby enriching society and enhancing scientific and academic competencies for the future.
