Establishment of the Department of Petroleum Engineering at the College of Engineering at the University of Kirkuk in cooperation with the International Society of Petroleum Engineers, branch of the University of Kirkuk, with the Continuing Education Unit in the college. A lecture entitled (Plans for developing Iraqi fields of productive reservoirs and the challenges accompanying them) delivered by Dr. Khaldoun Shaker Al-Farsi.
The lecture was held in the central hall of the College of Engineering at Kirkuk University, and was attended by a large number of students, academics and engineers interested in the oil industry. The lecturer provided a comprehensive overview of future plans for developing oil fields in Iraq.
The lecturer covered many important points, starting with providing an overview of the main oil fields in Iraq and ending with the challenges facing the oil industry currently. He also provided a comprehensive assessment of the measures currently being implemented that would enhance Iraq's ability to increase its oil production and develop the oil industry in general.
The attendees interacted greatly with the lecture, exchanging ideas and asking questions that concerned them regarding the future of the oil industry in Iraq and the challenges it may face.
After the lecture ended, the department presented a certificate of appreciation to the lecturer and to the parties involved in organizing the symposium, stressing the importance of such events in transferring knowledge and educating students about the latest developments in the field of the oil and gas industry.
