A Master's Thesis Discusses the Structures of Plurals and Their Meanings in the Diwan of Al-Lahib by Muhammad Al-Adnani

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, the master's thesis entitled (The Structures of Plurals and Their Meanings in the Diwan of Al-Lahib by Muhammad Al-Adnani) was discussed in the Department of Arabic Language by the student Hamad Sarheed Ahmed in the college hall on 8/28/2024.

The thesis aimed to extrapolate the plural words in their types and to clarify the regular and irregular ones. The work was divided into two chapters. The first chapter dealt with (the plurals of fewness, abundance, and the forms of the ultimate plurals), while the second chapter dealt with (the plurals of correction, the collective noun, the collective gender noun, and the plural of the collective) in the Diwan of Al-Lahib, by studying the word in terms of lexical meaning by mentioning the basic meaning of the word and analyzing it morphologically and semantically.

 Al-Adnani used a lot of plurals in his collection of poems, and this is due to the nature of the stage that Palestine was going through, which required the establishment of this poetic style to incite the spirit of revolution, sharpen the spirits and arouse determination.
