Under the patronage and attendance of the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohi El-Din, the doctoral thesis entitled (Rhetorical methods in the poetry of the six pre-Islamic poets by Al-Alam Al-Shantamri (d. 476)) was discussed in the Department of Arabic Language by the student Muhammad Hajim Abdul Ali in the college hall on 9/5/2024
The thesis dealt with rhetorical methods of simile, metaphor, metonymy and metaphor in the poetry of the six pre-Islamic poets, namely Imru' al-Qais, Alqama, Al-Nabigha, Zuhair, Tarafa and Antarah, as the great importance that these poets enjoy in Arabic literature is not hidden. If pre-Islamic poetry has reached the summit, then these six poets have sat on its throne and settled at its top. The study aimed to investigate models chosen by Al-Alam in his book that include these methods and analyze them And to stand on the beauty of these texts through many paintings, pictures and descriptions such as the praised and the satirized, and the paintings of the ruins, the mirror, the camel and others that were abundant in pre-Islamic literature, intending to stay away from the studied models and imitation in rhetorical studies.
